ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska State Troopers say a 17-year-old boy was attacked by a bear in Kake while walking along the road.
Brandon Berkley told the Village Public Safety Officer that he saw two black bear cubs but no sow before the sow came at him and slapped him, throwing him in a ditch.
Berkley says he was knocked unconscious and when he woke up, the bear was gone.
He walked to the village clinic where staff found no major injuries.
