ANCHORAGE – A federal judge in Anchorage has ordered a new public defender for former Wasilla Rep. Vic Kohring.
The Anchorage Daily News reports his initial lawyer is off the case because Kohring is suing him over a car accident.
Kohring, along with former House Speaker Pete Kott, is appealing a corruption conviction.
The two were released from prison in June because prosecutors failed to disclose evidence in their favor before the 2007 trial.
Kohring’s new attorney will have until Nov. 23 to propose a deadline for filing a motion on how the judge should deal with government’s withholding evidence.
