Palin: Courageous for readers to carry ‘Going Rogue’ in public
DAN SEWELL | The Associated Press
NORWOOD, Ohio – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Friday it shows courage for readers to carry her book in public, as she returned as a best-selling author to the southwest Ohio region where she made her debut as a national candidate.
More than 1,000 people came for the sold-out signing stop at the Joseph-Beth Booksellers store in this Cincinnati suburb. Her book “Going Rogue” comes nearly 15 months after GOP presidential candidate John McCain introduced her publicly as his running mate at a Dayton, Ohio, rally.
“I appreciate your boldness and your courage,” Palin said to cheers Friday. “Especially those of you who are carrying that book under your arm. You’re going rogue with me.”
Palin, who brought her son Trig with her, said the book provides a chance “to read my words unfiltered.”
“It’s refreshing for me to get to call it like I see it and not worry about what anybody else is going to say,” Palin said. “Just get out there and speak truth, and I know that’s how you guys are wired, too.”
She began her book tour this week in a key region politically, with earlier stops in Michigan and Indiana. She has a second book signing Friday night in the Columbus area, where some people started lining up more than 24 hours in advance.
Bruce Rankin, of 34, made the hour-long drive from Peebles, Ohio, for the Cincinnati-area book signing.
“I like the independent, fresh air she brings to politics,” Rankin said. “She is someone you can identify with.”

Jeez, it’s only a book, what kind of courage does it take to carry a book around that you’re reading? This is a pathetic attempt to further glorify her flash in the pan sensationalistic literary effort. Just trying to sell more books. And the Empire prints this drivel? She makes one bizarre comment and it’s suddenly a story?

Well people outside Texas did not know what Bush was about either.
So many people’s criteria back then was that they thought he was someone they could just sit down and have a beer with. And good lord look at the havoc he caused.
Most Alaskans know however that Palin would be much worse for our country and the world.
Although I dont think should could ever win an election, I think she is real good for the democrats by keeping the attention of the Republican base on her. We can pretty much be guaranteed that he wins another round. and I say Amen to that.

Courageous? I guess so. It says “you’re a sucker!”

Courageus!!!! I cannot stop laughing. She really does believe she is the next Jesus Christ. She has proven how much of a whack-o nut-job she really is with this one.

Why would carrying around a 400 page coloring book be considered courageous?

If showing what a numbskull you are for buying and carrying around a petty, self justifying monument to narcissism – is courage, so be it.

uggghhhhh!!! Just sick of her

Sarah doesn’t have the answers;she is the answer! Can you believe I heard Michelle use those exact words about Barack- now who’s got an ego problem?

I see newsmax advertizements for the book and they are selling it for $20 off the retail price, or $4.95 for the hardback. I guess that makes being ‘courageous’ a bit more affordable for everyone.

I believe in Sarah Palin. I know she is telling the truth. I am beginning to believe that the media is trying real hard to make a liar out of Sarah Palin, well it’s not working with me anymore. I believe Sarah Palin and that she is telling the truth and she has been honest after all this time. I am looking forward to reading her book after a friend reads it. However, she has been telling me about it along the way and Sarah Palin really is “Going Rogue”. She shared a lot of interesting pieces of truth. She didn’t go into detail but to tell it like it is. Also, I am beginning to believe that the media is working on the people’s ignorance and negativity.

The book itself contains a heavy dose of ignorance and negativity!!

I am beginning to believe that you’re an idiot, ellie.

She was overheard in Cincinnati saying this:
“Wow, here I am in the buckeye state! Home of the, errrr, ummmm, what actually goes on in Ohio other than election fraud? Um, Ohio, home of the uhhhh, oh! I know! That baseball team! The Cleveland Tlingits! That’s right!…Indians? Tlingits? Tomato tomahto, what-everrrrrrrr….
I love being here in Ohio, signing my books, the ones that I wrote, with words of courage and fabulositiness, like me. You can never have enough words in life, ya know, for books that is the freedoms we enjoy because words are what make Americhrist great, as great as Ronald Reagan shootin’ a big ole Alaska grizzly bear for his breakfast just like John Wayne used ta do to, all the time because it is and elsewhere for the other as it is sometimes connected with opportunities abounding everywhere on the radar of scope of my lengthy run on sentences of word soup and so should you, for the troops.
Did everyone here see me on the Orca Winfrey show? She’s SUCH a nice colored person. I actually had a gooder time. I enjoyed seeing all the young, teenage girls slobbering in the audience, stars in their eyes, wishing they were me. It’s all about me. ME ME ME ME ME. I love the attention. What’s with all the corn fields around here? God this place sure is flat.
Well, time for me to go! It sure was nice talkin’ to ya! So please remember, Jesus wants you to buy all your family members these books for His Birthday. It will bring a blessing to your life, and blessings in life is like having a bunch of babies, parading them around to show how great of a mother you are, unless you have 5 kids and live in the ghetto, then that ain’t cool, so buy the books and it will set you free to explore your own popsicles of hope and adventure of the buckets of doom locusts in the air of tax breaks for stimulating the armpits of recession tofu together with polar bear sourdoughs of media Levi popcorn porn to the other as much as job creation on the back burner between diapers and smacking Todd upside the head for insolence, and you should too because that’s the way I’m wired on my radar.
God, I need a margarita. This place is uglier than Wasilla city hall.

juneau’s political community HATES Former Governor Palin because she was flipping juneau’s Good old boys network upside down emptying out its iron case clutch of corrupt power and money. Why don’t you try to go in government to make politicians take responsibility and accountability for their actions who have been serving in the Old practice of politics in the capital city?? Any politician who was use to taking the easy high road in government that suddenly saw they must do hard honest means to take care of their constituents would put up a fierce tantrum impeding a positive movement toward an honest, transparent, accountable, and responsible government.

Tigger- is that why Palin displayed absolutely NO responsibility or accountability in any of her actions? Is that why she is behaving like someone who belongs on Jerry Springer and not in political office? Where is her transparency, accountability and honesty? I notice you didn’t include “intelligence” in that list, which is good, because Palin doesn’t have that either.
You are correct- there is plenty of corruption in politics. But Palin isn’t against it- she’s all for it as long as it waves the flag, says the right words, and cuts her in on the action.
November 21st, 2009 at 2:10 pm
And how do you know she is not accountable and responsible. an honest person trying to bring an honest responsibility in a legislature and its staffers after their decades of irresponsible use of the state’s revenue isn’t just going to roll to one side with shouts of joy when someone steps up to make them change their old way of conducting business in their capital offices. The only people for Jerry Springer, Rachel Maddow, Rush Limbaugh, Conan O’brian, Howard Stern are those americans who are products of a corrupt leadership who have lost their optimism that wasn’t present in american government for forty years. These two have reinvigorated our country and are renewing American’s basic values, principles, and beliefs that greatness of our country Starts with individuals first. However, they are NO John F. Kennedy. But also Palin represents a fraction of those principles, values, and beliefs that are the epitome of our american tradition, and the vision John F. Kennedy had for our country. We thought Obama was the same, however, he is proving that he lacks the intuition of when government intelligence might be making an error. And Palin has pointed out the errors made by the alaskan government and they turned around and bucked her, yet, our legislature is sitting idly not rebuking those claims with hard facts.

1. Let Palin release every single email, phone call, contact, and correspondence, private or public, she made during her tenure as Governor; she has resisted every effort to have “transparency and honesty” regarding her dealings in office;
2. Let her stop stop stop stop STOP lying (for example, there are no “death panels”, and the fact that she keeps screaming about them really makes any claim to honesty really rather…well…dishonest);
3. Let her show that she understands even BASIC geography, science, and national / international politics;
4. Let her finish what she begins;
When she does all of the above, then maybe I will begin to allow that she has the potential to be accountable, responsible, and honest. Until then she’s a joke.

We saw her book at Costco, nobody was fighting to buy and there wasn’t one line. The stack of books however, was pretty huge. People were smiling smugly at each other as they passed by the stack of untouched books and several remarks were heard. No, I didn’t buy it. No interest to read a book of lies. I can get a fictional book at Friends of the Library for free.

Well, she can’t even treat her fans well… About 300 of them in Indiana that had purchased the book in advance and had been given wristbands for admission to the book signing, many of whom sat outside the Borders store all night in order to be first in line, were left behind cold and wet when The Princess decided it was time to leave the store, even though many people were still in line hoping to see her.
A number of angry ex-fans said that they would return their books and not vote for her. Typical Sarah behavior.
Narcissistic is the word. Everything is about Her, the world revolves around Her Majesty. Thank goodness for Alaskans, she has left the building.
