FAIRBANKS – A suspected drunken driver has been charged with assault.
Alaska State Troopers say 48-year-old Darryl C. Knutson was charged Wednesday after a crash in west Fairbanks.
Troopers say Knutson, driving a pickup, ran a red light at Airport Way and University Avenue and crashed into the driver’s side of a sedan driven by 23-year-old Steven D. James.
James was treated and released at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. His car was demolished.
Knutson is charged with assault and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
